Getting started
Crossfire is a 2D game engine and an editor for it, both written in Odin. You build a game from scenes (a level, a menu) made of nodes: a sprite, a label, a camera, a physics body, a sound. You add your own code as scripts, small Odin files attached to nodes. The engine runs on SDL3 and Box2D, and games export to Linux, Windows, macOS and the web.
The Crossfire Editor is where you do the work. It shows the scene the way the game draws it, lets you arrange nodes and set their properties in an inspector, edits your scripts, and runs the game with Play (F5). The editor and engine are early (development builds), but they’re already usable: the editor comes with a demo project, a small space game and a platformer level, that uses most of the engine.
